After giving things a bit of thought, I decided to release 0.30 as a public version. There were a few reasons I did this: (Incoming wall of text, for TL DR, skip further down)

• First and foremost, this is a limited public version. This isn't something that will happen often, since as you may notice I haven't restricted past versions of the game in any way.   There are many new features and systems that were custom-coded for 0.30  to replace some of the placeholder systems (in particular, the inventory and crafting code) that don't exist in 0.28. At this point it makes sense to update the public version of the game to reflect these changes.
• Development progress is veering towards "clearing" the events in the prologue with the next few updates. This  will unlock some of the core features of the game -- namely creating your own Homs which is one of the last major features of the game.
• You can play 32 days into the game, if your file is further than that -- it may be worth it to start over from the beginning.  There are many features that also make it worth it to do so. Likewise, you could become a patron and  load your save file where there are no restrictions.
• I endeavor to make the project as backwards compatible as possible, but there's always a possibility that new versions of the game may not be compatible with old saves. 
• A few months back I noticed that bugs weren't reported consistently, which made the game appear like a buggy mess at times (unbeknownst to me). Honestly this was a newb mistake on my part, as I shouldn't have assumed players would get back to me with word of bugs. After all, you're here for the fun, not the boring stuff! This has all been cleared up with the past 2-3 updates to the best of my ability. 
• There's a significant amount of new content from 0.28  to 0.30.
• Way too many new features and systems to mention.
