Progress + Art Direction

Hello!

I just want to take a moment to explain the current state of the project, as well as where it's headed from here.

When  I began Hom Factory I had a specific idea as to the art direction of the project.

I wanted something anime style and visually pleasing to the eye. Eventually I attracted an artist that was willing to work with the project, however there were many issues resulting in us eventually parting ways.

With that in mind, I decided to switch gears. Frankly, I'm weary of being chained to teammates who have their own ideas about how things should work. It often causes unnecessary friction, and with art assets it can make or break a project.

Moving forward, I will be using 3rd party software to create new art for Hom Factory. The end result will be more in line with the original art style I imagined, and will resemble something close to this:

As far as the current demo, while I'm not happy with being unable to release according to my full vision, I do rather enjoy the premise of Hom Factory and I believe that if I can execute it properly, many others will as well. So I will be using random placeholder art to allow you to experience more of the game's premise (closer to 1 hour of play, when all things are said and done.) Primarily the demo will be missing:

  • Proper Backgrounds
  • Some of the planned stills that introduce Key characters.
  • Some of the key events.
  • Gun Style RPG Battling.
  • The Crafting System.
  • Several "encounters".

All of this should have had art made for it during the 2 months of development, but unfortunately conflicts behind the scenes severely affected artistic development. I'm more optimistic moving forward, and you should be too.

The demo will be releasing within the next day or two, and shortly thereafter work on the new visuals for the game will begin.

I'd like to thank the current fans of Hom Factory for their patience as I work towards a truer Hom Factory experience.
